Local Pickup & Meetup Safety

Last updated: November 4, 2026

KidResize lets sellers offer free local pickup. KidResize is not a party to the meetup and doesn't control, supervise or guarantee it (Terms §12.7–12.8). These tips help you stay safe.

Before you meet

Pay on KidResize only. Never pay cash, use a payment app, or send a bank transfer. Off-platform deals get no refund, claim or support (Terms §14).
Arrange it in KidResize chat. Listings show only the city and ZIP code. Share a meeting place only in chat, and only if you choose to.
Pick a busy, public, well-lit place, in daytime. Many police departments have public "safe exchange" zones; check with yours.
Tell someone where you're going and when, and bring someone with you if you can.
Everyone at a meetup must be 18 or older. Minors may not attend alone.

At the handoff

Inspect the item before you give the 4-digit pickup code. Check the size, condition and parts, and for car seats check the label, expiration date and recall status.
Give the code only if you accept the item. Giving the code confirms the handoff and that you accept the item's condition as it reasonably appeared at the handoff (Terms §12.3).
Never give the code before you have the item, and never share it in advance.
Don't enter a private home or vehicle if you're uncomfortable.
If you feel unsafe, leave and call 911.

After pickup

Hidden problems: you have 3 days after the code is entered to report problems you couldn't reasonably find at the handoff, such as an item that doesn't work, missing parts, a counterfeit or a recalled item (Terms §12.4).
No code within 7 days: if the code isn't entered within 7 days of purchase, the order is cancelled and you get a full refund, including the Service & processing fee and any tax (Terms §12.5).
No-shows: sellers with 2 no-shows in 90 days may lose local pickup or be suspended (Terms §12.6).

Report a problem

Report harassment, threats or unsafe behavior in chat, or through the Help Center or help@kidresize.com. In an emergency, call 911.
