Photo Guidelines
Last updated: November 4, 2026
Great photos sell items. Safe photos protect families.
Do
- Photograph the item only: flat-lay it, or hang it, on a plain background in good light.
- Show the real item you're selling, including tags, size labels, and any flaws, stains or wear.
- Car seats: include a clear photo of the label showing the model number and manufacture date.
- Bulk lots: show every item in the lot.
Don't
- Don't show children, especially children's faces. Use a hanger, a flat surface or a mannequin instead of a child wearing the item.
- Don't show identifying details, such as names, school logos or uniforms with names, house numbers, street signs, license plates or mail.
- Don't post photos of other people's children or of anyone who hasn't agreed.
- Don't use photos you didn't take, such as stock, brand or retailer images, or other sellers' photos (Terms §17A.3).
- Don't remove or cover the KidResize watermark (Terms §17A.4).
- Never post nudity or partial nudity, of anyone. That includes bath, diaper or swimwear photos with a child in them.
If a photo shows a child
We strongly discourage it. If you upload one anyway, you confirm you are that child's parent or legal guardian and consent to KidResize displaying and processing it (Terms §17.2). Photos that show a child may be removed.
How we review photos
We screen uploads automatically for nudity and sexual content, and rely on user reports and human review. We don't use facial recognition. Reported photos may be removed from public view right away and preserved for review. We report apparent child sexual abuse material to NCMEC as required by law and close those accounts permanently (Terms §17.3).
